WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO LEARN?
Common issues
What seems to be the problem?
-
Ensure you have not only allowed the Oculus mobile app access to Bluetooth, but also that your Bluetooth is switched on.
Ensure that the Oculus headset is switched on, and is nearby your phone.
-
Ensure you have selected the correct menu option. It should say, "Copy .glb URL"
Ensure you are on the correct Ready Player Me avatar creation website. The URL should look like: https://readyplayer.me/hub, or, alternatively, https://readyplayer.me/vrchat.
If your avatar link still does not end in ".glb", CampusVR will allow you to leave this section blank when you create your account. You will have to pick from one of our default avatars until the issue has been resolved.
-
Ensure you have sent the correct details to support@campus-vr.com. This includes your Oculus username, and more importantly, the email address you used to create your Oculus account.
Make sure you are checking the correct email account.
Check all folders in your email account for the email. This includes the spam, junk, social, and promotion folders.
-
One way to combat this issue is to remove the extension ".png" from all slides within your presentation folder before uploading them to the CampusVR website.
-
Make sure that the CampusVR application on your Oculus headset is always up-to-date with the latest version. If you are prompted to update the app before entering, it is best to select "Yes", as the update process should not take more than a few minutes.
If you are experiencing lags and app crashes, ensure you have a strong Internet connection.
Ensure that your headset is at full or nearly full battery. Even a headset that is on low battery, but charging, will experience crashes and connection issues.
When selecting an avatar, it is best to either select your self-made Ready Player Me avatar, or one of the available default avatars. Do not select the Oculus avatar option, as this tends to cause issues within the software.
Restarting either the CampusVR app or the Oculus headset itself can often fix any sudden issues.
Turning “Sleep mode” to 4 hours in your Oculus settings reduces the risk of your headset timing out during lectures.
